Simbe and Schnuck Markets Soon to Deliver Real-Time Information About Product Availability and Shelf Location via App to Streamline In-store Shopping Experience
Simbe’s fully-autonomous shelf-scanning robot, Tally, automatically collects accurate inventory data and instantly sends product location information to the Schnucks Rewards app, allowing both customers and teammates to locate products instantly.
(San Francisco, CA), September 16, 2019 – Today Simbe Robotics, Inc. and Schnuck Markets, Inc. announce that precise product location information will soon be available at select stores to customers and store teammates through the Schnucks Rewards app, empowering store teams with more accurate information and improving customers’ overall shopping experiences.
Simbe, the global leader in data-driven retail robotics solutions, currently has Tally robots traversing store aisles in 15 Schnucks locations in Missouri and Illinois, soon making the new app feature possible at those locations. Tally autonomously audits store shelves up to three times per day, allowing teammates more time to focus on servicing customers in store rather than mundane tasks, such as scanning inventory. The information Tally collects is then shared with store teams in real time, helping them to ensure that shelves are stocked, prices are correct, and that the products customers are looking for are where they expect them to be. With the new integration of Simbe’s real-time product location information into the Schnucks app, the retail leader is furthering its commitment to providing the best-possible shopping experience in-store through innovative technologies.
“The data that Tally brings to our fingertips allows store teams to constantly optimize inventory and minimize the disruptive annoyance customers experience when an item is out-of-stock,” said Dave Steck, Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Application Development at Schnucks. “Automatically integrating this information into the Schucks Rewards app will assist customers in locating products in our stores – down to the exact aisle and section number in which the product is located. We’re thrilled to soon share this technology with our customers and teams in the stores where we have Tally.”
“At Simbe, we believe that data is transforming customers’ shopping experiences and their relationships with physical retailers,” said Brad Bogolea, CEO and co-founder of Simbe Robotics. “By offering our partners better insight about what’s happening on store shelves, we’re empowering them to better serve customers. Retailers suddenly have e-commerce level visibility into consumer behaviors – a notorious blind spot in physical retail that costs the industry upwards of $1.75 billion in sales per year. The rich data Tally shares in real-time enables retailers to anticipate customer needs based on trends and historical data, improve store operations, and optimize inventory – down to the products exact location on the shelf. We’re thrilled to integrate Tally’s data into the customer experience and look forward to finding new ways to leverage that data to enrich Schnucks’ customers shopping experiences.”
